India Visa Application | Best Restaurants in Jaipur

Best Restaurants to Visit in Jaipur

If you are looking to complete the Golden Triangle tour of India, then Jaipur is already on your list. Remember to process your India Visa Application online before traveling.

As the largest city in Northern India, Jaipur has many wonderful destinations that you can spend your time exploring, but when you’re ready to relax and enjoy some local food, you’ll be in for a treat. Jaipur has a very active and exciting restaurant scene, here are a few of the places that you should make an effort not to miss.

If you’re looking for a little bit of adventure, head to Islami Kallu’s Restaurant. Far enough off the beaten path to avoid the heavy tourist traffic that most restaurants in Jaipur see, Kallu’s serves some of the best old world Muslim dishes around. These include spicy curries, biryanis, kebabs, niharis and the house specialty, mutton korma. In addition to being a little more private and extremely authentic, Kallu’s also has the advantage of being very inexpensive, making it a great choice for a traveler on a budget. Kallu’s serves lunch and dinner, and is open from 8 am to 11 pm.

Copper Chimney

One of the oldest restaurants in Jaipur, Copper Chimney serves wonderful Indian-Chinese fusion dishes that are known as the best in the city. You can find a wonderfully rich diversity of plates at Copper Chimney, such as crispy okra with garlic, honey chili potatoes, chicken haka noodles alongside traditional Northern Indian cuisine. The extensive menu has many different vegetarian choices as well as a non-vegetarian menu. Despite its long history, Copper Chimney is still a relatively inexpensive dining choice. Copper Chimney serves lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm, closes briefly and then reopens for dinner from 6:30 to 11 pm.

Located just next door to the Copper Chimney, Handi offers a world renowned selection of Northern Indian cuisine. The restaurant is especially famous for serving the most authentic laal maas that you can find outside of Jaipur hotel, alongside paper thin roomali bread. The restaurant is laid out in a rustic, casual fashion that creates an incredibly inviting atmosphere. Be warned, however – authentic is sometimes synonymous with spicy in Northern Indian cuisine, and they don’t mess around at Handi! Handi serves lunch beginning at noon and their dinner service stretches until 11 pm, when the restaurant closes. Like Kallu’s and Copper Chimney, Handi is also a very affordable place to enjoy a meal.
